Hello Everyone!

I’m Janet, a multi-faceted artist, wordsmith, and intrepid explorer.

I am from Chicago, IL, in the USA. I received a Masters in Fine Arts degree from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, PA, USA in 2001, while following my dream of being a professional artist,

I also am a professional writer. Fusing my two creative loves, I began making illustrations for my own books when I was at University and I have never stopped. Currently, I am writing and illustrating my second novel for children, called The Temple Cat, about an ancient Egyptian girl who possesses the magical abilities of the Egyptian gods’ totem animals.

I love nature, animals, beauty, story-telling, food, cities, talking to people, travel and adventures. All of this gets distilled into my art. I strive to share my love of the natural and human-constructed world with others and make a deep connection with my viewers by injecting all my passions into my artwork.

For me, art is a journey of self-discovery that I try to infuse with joy and light. In a world weighed down by troubles, I try to produce pieces that not only delight myself but also put a smile on the faces of those who encounter them. To me, this is the ultimate purpose of art – to create connection and uplift the spirit.

Join me in my whimsical explorations of art, where every stroke of the brush and every print of the press is an invitation to see something enchanting about the world around us.
